Hello

I had a conversation with an independant service point for Ericsson today. They had some interesting things to say

1) They are getting new R2A software version each week

2) They would take a whole morning to do this upgrade ( not because of how long it takes, but because they have loads of broken phones to fix too )

3) The R2B upgrade is apparently going to take 5 days to do because it is really complicated ( again this is not due so much to the time the upgrade takes, but the fact that "thousands" of people are going to be returning their phones )

So there you have it - this was a company in Slough UK

By the way, if you go to the sonyericsson website and enter service centre and slough, nothing comes up

the upgrade itself takes about 10min, then how long you'll have to wait to get your phone back will vary... if you go direct to a servicepoint you often can have it done "while your waiting".

Is that the independent service centre in Hayes you are refering to? If so, I called them up regarding the repair of my T68 which (off the record) I dropped and the volume slider broke. I called them to find out where they were etc and as soon as they found out it was not a pay job (warranty) they were just so disinterested.... Also, their phone manner, just sounded like a few dodgy kids! In the end I did not feel secure sending them my T68 (this was when they were very new and expensive!) so I sent it back to Ericsson main service centre. Took them 4 weeks due to lack of parts, and in the end I got a brand new phone!
