i dare not do that cause my K800 have no scratch at all.

but i got another method to help improve the joystick usability.

this is the method:
first get a 2mm thick double tape.
then cut it at the size of HPM70 hole. (same diameter with K800 joystick)
after cutting it as a circle nicely, stick it there, (but before clean it first)
and then for the top surface, use something like water or soft alcohol to remove the "stickiness" on the surface that you're pressing.
(theorically: this make the joystick fatter, thus improve its usability.)

so far, i got all positive comment, lots my friends told me that without using that, the joystick is worse. if anyone interested, i can post pics later.

If the phone is still under warranty ( 2 years in the U.K. ) why not just send it back for repair?

Ive just thought 'what the hell' and followed your tutorial, as my joystick wouldnt allow a down or right movement and can report as you stated, its as good as new now! Thank you. Ive been wondering for ages how to get in to clean it. I used an electrical screwdriver to prize off the plastic surround. Its also worth mentioning that when putting back together, its important to position the two lugs at the bottom of the plastic surround into place first and then lowering the top part into place until it snaps back into place. Cheers!

Well I love my mobile, so I'd rather take it to a proffesional and spend some money then scratch/damage my mobile
O and try to get problems while your mobile is under warantee
Not that you can really choose but anyway

The joystick on mine was a bit unresponsive so just used your guide & seems to be working a treat.

Cheers

I give mine to service centre under warranty. They change the joystick switch (couldn't take photo since they need to claim it to SE) and it all well again under 3hr for free.

Edit: it is the fifth pic in the first page

Those who still got warranty is better to use it. It is our right anyway.

I tried it, it worked beautifully, and there is no way to scratch your phone doing just use some super small scissors and you'll be fine.
