You should be careful when playing with this code. I'm not sure I remember this correctly, but I think the code **04* is for changing the phone's lock code, and the correct syntax is

**04*( old PIN )*( new PIN )*( new PIN again )#

So, if the phone's lock code has been left unchanged, i.e. 0000, nothing in particular happens if the code is typed, otherwise, the message "wrong pin" appears, and, if you try this 3 times in a row, the phone will become more or less permanently locked, it depends on brand and model whether it is bricked or not.

I think - is down and + is up on ut joystick/ navigation keys but im not sure
