@pinguino

I don't know, if SE have added a Keyboard which provides a similar onscreen typing experience to that of the iphone, but if you believe that it is not the best but closest match for your needs, you may try Resco Keyboard:

http://www.resco.net

They have also other useful apps, incl. Resco Explorer, which, along with its reg editor and ftp add-ins, is the best file manager app on the market imo.

For backups I would suggest SPB Backup though, since Resco Backup is often unable to restore backups successfully, at least in my experience.

@bloob,

in the beginning, I don't have google panel. O2 change it with O2 panel. I've managed to change the panel to google panel. But.... in the google panel, all the shortcuts work except for google maps. When I click google maps, nothing happen.

@masseur,

In my xperia, in the programs section, there is no such icon/applications

@myth

I'm currently trying install from m.google.com. let see how it works

Hi Masseur,

Well, I had put every phone under the microscope but...
I'm not the best typist in a computer, I'm atrocious on the numeric
T9 keyboards, I hate the BB style keybpards, I felt much better with the
TnTy II (Tilt) but still I tough it was deficient.

When the iPhone was announced I was hopeful but I found myself pressing
the wrong key over and over... So If the iPhone didn't do it, what
virtual keyboard is going to do it?

I don't have the Xperia yet, but when I see the videos and the pictures and
the reviews with bigger and spaced keys and standard layout, I feel this is
my keyboard, finally.

If you ask me why the Xperia? Simple, my two most important priorities are
visuals and productivity, so the 800x480 and the keyboard are hands down
the answer. Plus I'm lucky that everything else in the Xperia is superb,
I can't see anyother phone that can surpass the Xperia today.

I've had the X1 for 5 days now, and whilst I used to type extremely quickly with one hand, using T9, I'm now happily typing quite fast using the keyboard.

Obviously some people love virtual keyboards, but personally I like to feel keys. I think the keyboard is good, and keys travel sufficiently to know you've press them.

Only thing missing is a bunch of smiley's, lol.

@myth,

I've managed to install google maps.... and it works great. thanks a lot.

By the way, for the internet setting, the phone will select edge or 3G depending on the area/coverage , isn't it ? At my place, the phone is using edge instead of 3G. Does it mean, there is no 3G coverage here ?

In previous page, when I say the phone is a bit slow when changing from portrait to landscape, it is only for the animation for all the 9 panel switching. For the individual panel, it is fast.

I've been finding my way around my X1 for 24 hours now and I absolutely love it. Just one problem so far... I can't seem to receive anything by bluetooth. I have tried sending files from three different phones but it fails every time. Sending files from the X1 to another phone worked fine, but I can't receive anything. Any ideas anyone?

X1 display compared to K850 display. Picture was shot in RAW for optimal colour reproduction and with manual settings (1/60 sec, f/4 and ISO 200).

Goto start->settings/connections/bluetooth. Then click on "Mode" tab, select "Make this device visable to other devices".

Once the device has been paired, you can uncheck the box, if you like.
