Can a Orange employee do me a favour please? Can you put in a unlock request for a LG Secret please...I know this may sound silly but I dont want to go through the process of registering a sim etc. I will pay for it of course...

You are a bit stuck here my friend. The network will not generate the unlock code unless it has been used for 3 months - after registration. By not registering it you are delaying the ability to get it unlocked via code. Sorry buddy.
