I want to get a better card (got 2gb atm). Anyone know when 32gb micro sd will be available + anything else I need to look out for (have heard class 6 is the best, not sure what this means tho, is it transfer speed?).

Will xperia take a 32gb card?

Hi there,

Yes you are partly correct, the class represents the minimum sustainable write-speed of a card.

Class 2: 2 Mb/s
Class 4: 4 Mb/s
Class 6: 6 Mb/s

At the moment the higher the card rating, the lower the Gb's. 32Gb cards are not in circulation yet, haven't heard any solid release dates either. If you buy a 16Gb card, the highest available is Class 4 with "some" vendors. However I tend to stick with SanDisk, which has a Class 2 rating with it's 16Gb card.

A few have a 16Gb card, but I only have a 8Gb card, as the price-per-Gb point is more than double for a 16Gb card. For example on mymemory.co.uk, you can buy a 8Gb SanDisk Class 4 card, with free USB-reader, for about £18. Where a 16Gb card comes in at approx. £42 + p&p.

Regards,
Chris
