I've updated my phone to the new R1EA034 firmware. It did update and it seems ok so far but i've yet to see how stable this new firmware is and what improvements or difference it has from the previous one.

However. with the the new firmware it affects the Orange homescreen and a message appears saying "HOMESCREEN This appliction uses too much memory", yet my phone memory has 95mb memory free plus it worked ok on the R1DA032 firmware. I guess i can live without it for now as I don't use the homescreen much.

Update: I found a place which did C510 debranding. I told them about the previous unlocking and what happened. They said that some files may have been deleted during the unlocking procedure so that's why i lost the network's logo, time and date on my phone. They said my phone needed to be reflashed and unlocked again and this time i opted to go back to the original Sony Ericsson firmware. It was successful and i now have the R1DA029 Generic firmware. I'm very pleased to finally have a debranded phone after using Orange firmware branded phones for 5 years!

Does unlocking or de-brading the phone from the it's locked network void the Sony Ericsson 2 year warranty?

where is this Customize_upgrade seen?

both the old classic mesaaging folder and the conversations change a message to MMS when an emoticon is added.

download --> here

there are two folder contains two xml files.

use customize_upgrade.xml on folder "separate_mode" to change your layout to old style layout --> can't use chat view, but can use animations

use customize_upgrade.xml on folder "unified_mode" to change your layout to default layout --> original C510 layout

put that customize_upgrade.xml into tpa/preset/custom

(tested on my K850 and on C905).

i'm about to buy a new phone and for a long time c510 was the one and only... but then I have heard about the camera wich dissapointed so many, and right now I found out that phones as LG Viewty is at the same pricerange. however, I like the interface in phones but it feels like I (lose?) money by choosing c510 instead of viewty.
what do you think? is viewty good for everyday usage? and is the c510 still producing noisy pictures?
