I got a K660i from 3. I was under the impression from reviews that Google Maps and likes would give better accuracy if I had a bluetooth GPS receiver, so I ordered one. However yesterday I tried using my mate's bluetooth TomTom GPS receiver, and paired the two up. But could not get it to list any services from the device or make use of it.

Is it possible that this function is not allowed on the K660? Most sites actually do not list their bluetooth GPS receiver to work with k660i - I had assumed that it was down to the list being out of date. It seemed silly me to remove this feature if no extra work / hardware needs to be added to allow the phone to do this.

I have a feeling when my device arrives, it won't work either, and that i will have to resort to trying an HGE-100 - which I think also does not work with googlemaps yet?

Thanks in advance.

So let me answer this myself - Google Maps did not work with the bluetooth GPS receiver. However, I downloaded nav4all and some other java based sat nav application - and they both communicated with my sat nav well. Now just want to find a hombrew software that still uses googlemaps as the search and mapping system, but that also supports bluetooth gps receiver.
