Couldnt find a topic on this.

Whats the difference between the two, i have just changed networks and i have a H (HSPDA) icon but not a 3G icon, can you have both or is it one or the other, and also which is better for streaming content of mobile you tube, 3g or Hspda.

Thanks

HSDPA is basicaly 3.5G, its faster 3G, it stands for High Speed Downlink Packet Access or something like that. In most SE phones like C902 it gets upto 3.6mbps, whereas 3G Only gets upto 384kbps.

with phones the most you'll get on 3.5g as at now is 3.6mb/s theoretically. But on modems you could reach 7.2mb/s theoretically.

Current HSDPA (3.5G) devices support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.0 Mbp/s. However, that also means your network needs to support those speeds. If your phone is capable of HSDPA means it can do it, but it depends on the network and real life condition that it actually happens, which is never. But you could go faster than 3G and UMTS.

It's one or the other.
If you get a 3G symbol you might be getting 3G or you might be getting HSDPA, it depends on whether the network provider adds the tag which triggers the symbol on your phone. Some phones display a 3G+ instead of an H.
