I would love to compete in the cameraphone shootout thread more often but having only the iPhone 3G 8GB means there's not really much point. iPhone 3G has the worst camera of any phone since the K750i made manufacturers get serious about cameras. Shame.

@tranced
Have you run it by Laffen to get permission to use the Esato logo? I wonder if an extra rule should be added to each months competition to say that entry also allows permission for the winning photo to be used in the next calendar? It is all not-for-profit of course.

Don't mean to over-complicate things but in this day and age everyone needs to know where stay stand as far as copyright etc.

@amawanqa

Thank you for your appreciation. Why not creating old magic again. Let do some exercise with our phone camera.

@carkitter

Its okay. But there must be someway.

I am sure tranced must be following what is needed for it, otherwise he would not declare it.

Regarding the calendar, laffen'd told me about a site which made calendars from photos uploaded by members. Here's part of the PM:

There is a lot of copyright issues related to publication of a photo calendar by members. I know of a site which made a book based on photos submitted by members so it should be possible to do with a calendar of course. The way they arranged it was by letting all contributors having a couple of copies of the book for free and let all others have to pay for it. The profit went to a charity organization.

@tranced and laffen

Why should we turn to other website for that calender, where no esato logo or other official things are not included? And lets not forget that this is the OFFICIAL camera phone shootout competition.

Dont know about others but these are my thoughts.

Apart from this, one question, when anyone upload the winner's pic on that site, the copyright issue will not come in play ???

Photos are already uploaded, so publish it for members only won't be much of a copyright problem. I think.

the tesco's near me do calendars made up from phone photo's, so it wouldn't be a stretch to get a few printed off. Of course, i would pay for the calendar, as it isn't expensive, and whats money anyways?...its there to be spent isn't it lol. btw..i may have missed the requirements, but can i enter using my omnia hd?
