Agreed - I was a big fan of UIQ 2 when the P800 etc were around, but they messed it up badly with 3.0 - IMO it died as a platform long before Symbian etc killed it off.

Shame, as had they made a few different choices the P800 could have developed into so much more.

Samsung recently also denied rumours it was ditching Symbian. Nokia have already had big success with cheaper Symbian phones. The 5530xm has been selling big it hit no.1 spot after a week or so. I would like to see something new but the only thing thats odd about the new operating system Nokia are using is it cannot be used in portrait mode. Odd.

NOKIA according to GSMArena and M-R have said that the next N900 firmware will allow portrait view in all apps and Menus, currently only Telephone and a Game are Portrait.

it will drop eventually. The ui is looking well worn..i'd like a ui that marries simplicity and function together..i don't fancy android or maemo atm so, god knows what handset i'll get after my omnia hd.

Like the iPhone did with firmware 3.0 then. How far behind is Maemo?
I'm not at all interested in a N900 but I am very interested in Nokia's Netbook. Is there a Vaio with the same spec?
