The Nokia N97 has only been on sale since June, but the heavyweight flagship phone from the Finns is already being discarded at a clip, according to one phone recycler – more than any other smartphone of 2009, in fact.

It's not just SE that get panned - if you produce rubbish people will cotton on.....eventually. Especially when there are new coompetitors with competent offerings.

,I hope NOKIA have learnt a valuable lesson,there's simply no longer any room for lazyness, if it wasnt for the N900, E72 and the XpressMusic S60v5 line-up they would be in serious trouble,not like this is bad enough though.
And once again,its not just SE who get it bad when they make crappy phones,big shocker,eh?

Samsung are already biting Nokia's backside as they are just behind them in the market. Nokia make alot of decent phones but they need to pull their socks up or the will find themselves back to the days when they first started out. Making footwear

That doesn't surprise me, its been a nightmare for users for a long time now.
The old school manufacturers need to step up their game.
Moto had a great fall and is now bouncing back. Much the same thing will happen to SE - I predict it will make a come back this year. If Nokia takes a hit then it will never regain the top spot again from Samsung.

They actually started out making paper, but sure enough moved onto footwear when they moved onto rubber production!

Look at how Samsung or even LG just know the market. Their Star and Cookie phones have both each sold around ten million worldwide in less than a year. Samsung even are doing well with smartphones too with minimum effort. Nokia are still doing very well with their current Xpress Music range. Their 5530xm model shot to the top spot within one week. Their s40 range sell well too but people are starting to notice and get pissed with Nokia with the problems with their high end devices. Sony Ericsson thankfully are coming up trumps with the Satio now in the UK in terms of sales since re-release. Lets hope its a continuing trend. Nanu yes making paper then Nokia may end up going back to making cardboard for mobile phone boxes for Samsung LOL

It just goes to show that the expectations of consumers are rising - and after losing money on a quick "get rid" of an expensive phone like the N97, they're going to be even more cautious when approaching new phones as they come on the market. Something that bugsmith's like SE need to be really aware of.
