Hello everyone...

I have a long running history with Sony Ericsson phones, it's been my favourite brand ever since I got my first phone (a trusty T290). I've had a K300, a W810i, and now a W995. Before getting it, I was really excited about its' features, but after a few weeks with it, I'm a bit disappointed, mainly with the camera (when I got the W810, I remember being blown away by the quality) and the glitchy WiFi, these two feats being the main reason I wanted the phone (I'm a student with no laptop, but with Wifi in our residence).
So after quite a bit of searching online, I came across the new Android alternative...and now I cant stop thinking about selling my W995 and getting a HTC Hero(around the same price), or waiting a bit for the hype to wear off and go for the Nexus One or the Motorola Milestone...and while their cameras are most probably worse than the W995's, they seem to do everything else better, and the level of customization is attractive to say the least.

So if anyone has experience with both Android and SE phones would offer me some advice, I would really be grateful, as I dont wanna make any rash decisions, but at the same time I dont wanna waste any opportunities to get smth better for my money. Thanks a bunch. and sorry if I posted in the wrong section.

Thanks for the reply.

Well, waiting for a SE Android was also an altenative that I was considering, but honestly I wasnt getting my hopes up since the price of a X10 is probably gonna be way out of my budget (I saw reports of close to 900$ price tags). No denying though that it would really be a "best from both worlds" scenario hehe...

I guess I'll try to be patient, see how the Android market evolves, and keep an eye out for SE's offers....plus, seeing as plenty of new models are supposed to get launched soon from HTC, maybe that'll mean price drops for older ones. Just hope my W995 wont lose much of its' value by then....

You better start saving money if you want a Android. As for X10mini, if they announce today when will it arrive?

well now they have 3 androids....basically all have similar look but come in different size... haha

you got size L for X10....size S for X10mini and size M for X10mini Pro. or should it be XL for X10...maybe there's something in between X10mini and X10

What do you want to do on an Android device that you can't do on a W995?
If you want an excellent camera and customisation then I'm sure S60 can accomodate you well. Android phones are smartphones first and camphones second.

To be honest, all I'm looking for is a phone with proper working WiFi that would fill the spot of a laptop for now, and I saw the W995 as the perfect candidate, especially with the camera and music playing abilities that made me fall for SE in the first place (W810..sigh). Now I'm not so sure any more...still cant get any websites to load with the WiFi, and the inability to connect to some secure networks while a buddy with an Iphone (hate that thing) has no problems whatsoever is pretty disappointing...I'll try to reinstall the software tomorrow, if that doesn't get things working again then I dunno...

There's not really smth specific about the Android that I'm looking for, I guess I just fell for the hype...plus its finally smth that'll wipe the smug of Iphone users' faces, heh.
