Alright, so Ive kinda gotten over the fact that my fingers are way too big for this phone and Ive began to be a little bit more nimble...lol...but I have some questions about windows mobile...this is my first WM device...Im worried that symbian is the only one my brain can work with because I did switch one time a few years ago to the LG Viewty but I never really felt comfortable with it...

So heres my first and probably most important question, how do I get my computer to recognize it? I have Windows Vista...I have googled everything and all I have came up with is that I am suppose to use Windows Mobile Device Center...I downloaded drvupdate-x86 and installed it but nothing happened after the install was complete...when I connect the phone it tries to install the drivers(i guess)but then it says something failed with WM Remote Adapter...I then updated windows and tried it again...nothing still...I have also tried to sync it with wmplayer but still nothing...Any ideas?

Also, in the communications manager what should I turn on? Like if I turn on Edge or Wifi does that mean they will be running all the time? That seems like a waste of battery but at the same time when I get on the internet it doesnt ask me what connection I wanna use...and if I have to go to the connection manager every time before I get on the internet that could get annoying...

How do I turn off the SMS sent notification? its so annoying...

Heres my device info so I can make sure everything is right
S ID 1231-7617
S V R1AA097
C ID 1231-7557
C V R5A
L R GENERIC_SG
C V PA2
S L ENGL
R SW V 6.5.60221

Im sure Ill come up with some more questions...thanks for ANY help!

Hi,
I had the same problems with connection. The solution for me was to go to Start, then Right click on My Computer and click manage. Then go to device manager down the left, and connect your phone. When the drivers finish failing, right click on all if of the yellow question marks and click uninstall. Do this for every single one related to the phone, such as themodem etc. Do not use driver downloads and let windows update get the drivers.
Thanks

Also, are you using 32 or 64 bit?

Naw...Im just gonna use my brothers comp with windows xp...lol...I can handle XP...

Ive got another question tho...should I be having to restart my phone every day? Its atleast once a day...sometimes twice...it usually happens when ive had it locked in my pocket for any amount of time and I go to slide the lock to unlock it...the lock just slides to the right and sits there...I can keep moving it back and forth but nothing happens...so I usually just hold the power button to restart it but sometimes it ask for a pin and I havent even set a pin yet(whats the default pin?)...so I have to take the battery out...this hasnt really annoyed me too bad yet but Im sure it will very soon...

Also, is there a torch program for the x2 yet? I tried htorch and torchbutton but no luck...

Similar thing with the lock problem on my HD2. However, its not nearly as frequent as you are getting it. I have no fix but I've never had to battery pull tbh. Just leave it for 30 seconds and press the lock key does it for me .
Cheers
