Hi all

i thought some of you would like this (surprised it hasnt been posted yet)

"Aw, why don't these CEOs say stuff like this in press conferences? Sony Ericsson's head Bert Nordberg has shared with Swedish publication Sydsvenskan the rather salacious news that his company was asked to build the so-called Google phone before HTC... and it turned down the opportunity. Fearing brand dilution or something equally crazy, Nordberg states that Sony Ericsson is committed to building only its own-branded hardware and will not be a subcontractor to anyone. Haughty words from a company whose own Android device is still a good couple of months away from hipsters' pockets, but we're sure Bert knows best. After all, it's not like HTC got a ton of positive press and brand awareness out of its partnership with Google, and it's exceptionally clear that SE doesn't need a dime of additional revenue. Oh, wait."

Good thing they refused, or we'd still be waiting for the NexusOne to be released.

This shows that even a guy from Sweden who's CEO doesn't know anything about running a good business.
Just look how popular HTC has became by being the first with android.
If a team of peeps from esato would lead SE for one year, the next year when everything is launched, we would see SE rise up to the number 2 spot in terms of market share and they'll be very profitable.
But then again why would a CEO and the board of SE turn to us when they are getting payed so much for hardly doing their job.

Sony should just ditch ericsson. It's getting stupid. They should make a cool smartphone with walkman and PS integration and say good bye to ericsson. is late to the android game and hasn't released a 1.5/1.6 android phone when the whole market is moving to 2.1 already and comes now with this ridiculous statement like 'we don't need google, our brand is strong enough', HTC is getting good press everywhere for the nexus one and is not losing market share every year like , they needed it less than but were smart enough to get it. With a CEO like this, no wonder is going downhill.
