iTunes says no update for me (I'm already running the GM seed from last week)
Also, the developer forums say its the same version which is a bit dissapointing considering that it definitly still has some issues

Can you say what those issues are? I updated last night, haven't found any problems so far, I'd be lying if I said I was particularly blown away by it though.. the folders are nice, and touch focus in video is a good improvement, but not sure about the multitasking yet. I'm one of the few that actually appreciated the simplicity of single-tasking, and not having to worry about managing which apps were running in background, which was a blessed relief from my Symbian and Windows Mobile days when the task manager was my most used app.

Now with iOS4 and it's list of open apps I feel like I should be managing that again, and manually closing stuff I don't want (and have already closed)... I know Apple will say that their version of multitasking has no effect on battery life or processor cycles, but not sure I believe that.

It's a shame there isn't an off switch, or at the very least one button to kill all background apps, rather than having to scroll through and stop each of them individually.

There's the image naming issue that AbuBasim mentioned a couple of days back.

I have quite a few music videos and in the video section of the ipod when scrolling down it can get very laggy/jerky.

When watching video podcasts the controls sometimes become unersponsive such that I have to exit the ipod with the home key and re-enter

Since the GM my push email is reliable for delivery to the phone, but when I delete emails I reguarly get a message that there's an error contacting the server and so the message cant be deleted

Ibooks gives an error message about the book not being found sometimes when starting the app and when it tries to resume at my last page

A few apps that worked perfectly in 3.1.3, then variously worked/didn't work in the various beta... some still crash on startup but I guess the developers will probably release new versions to fix that.

There's a few other things that just in general give me a slightly "unfinished" feeling compared with eth OS3 release last year.

Hi Guys,
How can I downgrade fom 4.0 to 3.1.3? Is there a way to do this?

4.0 seems a little slow compared to 3.1.3.

Thanks.

there's no official way to downgrade AFAIK

google something called iRecovery that I have read about in the forums which can do it (at your own risk, of course)

If you have an 3GS you need to make sure that you have your SHSH files backup on Cydia... If you don't have this done then it will be unlikely you can downgrade...

I am not too sure about iRecovery...

i only have a 3G so i think i will just be giving this update a miss and wait till thursday and test it out on a shiny new iphone4
from what i have been reading i think the jb backgrounder is even more versatile than apples version of multitasking, at least with backgrounder i can specific the apps i want and toggle it off and on at will
is ibooks any better than stanza? and i am guessing u have to buy all the books in app?
