Hi all,
It's been a while since I've posted here now.
But some of you may remember the topics I've been known to create about removing branding.
I'm thinking about changing phone from my trusty C905 to an X10, but would obviously want to change to generic firmware.
I've done extensive searching but have been unable to find any information on doing this with the X10.
Anyone have any ideas?

You simply need to Root the phone and install a custom ROM as and when one is produced for the X10 running Android 1.6 or you may even be able to go straight to 2.1 so long the correct Kernel can be obtained with the correct radios etc and away you go. simples

Is there no current solution to use SEUS to trick it like the old days?
@5H4K, Cheers. Is it not branded as in the box, phone case and firmware do not contain any Vodafone logos etc?
If I remember correctly the firmware is still not classed as generic though - it must have some different settings or something - see
this post on the Vodafone forum!

Not so simples when it's not yet possible to root let along install a custom ROM on the X10

That's my post on the Vodafone forum. The Vodafone and other carrers have their own firmware and they have stripped a few funications from the OEM firmware and installed software on it that you can't remove.
