> Large SD card gives bad performance?

all, my x2 was getting very slow again after beeing quite fast port the MR2 upgrade. I had a 16 GB sd ultra mobile with 10 GB of mp3 and a lot of videos and pictures and a lot of installed programs...
I reinstalled the X2 and formatted a 2gb sd card and hey what an improvement on performance!!!
can anyone tell me if its the reinstalling in itself, or the fact that i changed to an almost empty sd card that helped the performance?
i moved all the mediafiles and the 16 gb card to my new X10 mini pro instead...
