Fairly happy with my Desire at the moment, and will either keep it and see what Gingerbread turns out to be like or get an iPhone 4, so for the moment I'm just looking for the best value contract for £15-£20 p/m.

Got a problem however - O2. Get 3G signal in three places, my house, my school, and part of the city, and pretty much nowhere else! It's useless, even though their coverage maps tell me I should have 3G signal everywhere in Norwich I clearly don't.

I don't know if there is anyone from Norwich here to advise me to go with a certain provider, or if I'll just have to take a guess. A mate is on T-Mobile and says he has 3G pretty much anywhere he goes, so leaning towards them.

Can anyone help?

Can you not just test the different network sims in your areas of work rest and play? The networks always give them out free. And yes T Mobile has excellent 3G
