Has anyone on here jailbroken their iPhone? I'm tempted to but still unsure about doing it. What's everyone's views?

I never update to a newer firmware unless a jailbreak is available.
Never had a problem but even if you do, you simply use iTunes to restore back to official firmware

How would I restore it to the original firmware? Simply by pressing the restore button on iTunes?
Seen some videos on youtube and some of the apps look really good. Might give it a go. But still worried I'm gona bugger up my phone. If I do would I be able to get a new one on insurance? For example if it wouldn't turn on or something?

Theres countless advantages and so much cool stuff you can get from jailbreaking without breaking any laws. Do it

Any degredation of performance once the phone is started is almost certainly down to the jailbroken apps that have been installed whose quality is not neccessarily controlled, which is partly why Apple prefer to vet/QA what users install, but that doesn't mean the choice should not be ours in the first place!

Lol the first thing I did when I had my iPhone 3 and 4 was jailbreaking the device with just my basic knowledge (you don't need more).
Jailbreaking is harmless to your device and allows you to download and use tweaks, themes, custom ringtones, custom apps and way more. And if you ever decided you wanted to go back just press the Restore button in iTunes while your phone is connected with the PC/Mac and voilá it returns you back to stock firmware.
