Why is that sometimes the phones screen swithes on for a few seconds (for about 5 sec., (as if you had pressed the home button)) than swithes off (for about 10 sec.) it repeats this a couple of times, than keeps the screen swithed off for minutes. After a while it repeats to swith on consecutively few times.

I observed this "problem" on my phone , it was an app gone wild "Xperia wallpapers " that made this switches on-off , I removed de app and everythis is ok now . Hope it helps .

I also noticed a really bad battery drain recently... found the culprit, Facebook Inside, specifically the calendar sync.

Since you can't uninstall it, I disabled it in the App management menu.

Regarding SMS... I'm just using the default SMS app and SMS Pop up, but I'm finding it a bit on the slow side. Is Go SMS Pro faster than the default SMS app and SMS Pop-up combined? I kinda wanna keep the ICS Holo look and not go with some iOS look-alike

@jp, had you tried using a custom rom, and using some kernels and scripts to save some battery life?

Hi limemint, no not running a custom rom on my ray, just the official ICS rom. I've had no problems w/ it so far so I'm happy.

I'm happy I found a way to disable a few built in apps as well.

My biggest battery eater is really the fact that I leave my 3G on (as well as wifi and BT) and that I always chat/IM with my phone.

I'm installing it right now.

4.1.B.0.587, Android 4.0.4. Seems to work, and I don't see anything that differs from before, other than maybe that the dialing app starts up somewhat faster. Anyone that know where to find some kind of release notes?

Nope,
but:

* LED notification for missed calls (not for text messages, yet(?))
* Camera "stabilizer" can now be active when recording video without poor result
* Dialler faster
* More options in mobile data consumption control

cons in 4.1.B.0.587 update:
1. LED no work for sms & application like WhatsApp.
2. Wifi always loop after a minutes (5-10 minutes). Very bad connection for me!
3. Still battery drain fast.
