Why?
Why did they omit the card slot. 16GB isn't much and only less than 13GB of those is available for the user.
The phone should have a combined SDHC and SDXC card reader, no less.

No card slot?/ I never noticed that That's daft. And yes 16 gigs is like the days when you had 4 gigs

I can only hope HTC will copy Apples 64GB billion dollar note
but tbh does anyone really need that much space?

my phone has 1gb internal and 8gb on the card it's enuff virtually
but still everyone to his/herself

if anyone gets this new XL please Review asap please cos it looks HOT!!!!!!!

If you just listening to tunes,16GB is ample.

16GB will not do for a smartphone (for me).
Firstly only 12.7 GB is available for the user.

For sure photos doesn't need much storage but video recordings will.
The XL will probably have exotic video format support, like mkv, avi and divx/xvid, to no use if there is no room for more than a couple films/movies.

Perhaps HTC will copy Apple and invent things, like a card slot in XLs or XL2.

In a phone sized like the XL HTC should have had enough room for a full size SDXC card reader and one for a MicroSDXC, both backward compatible with the SDHC cards.

My Desire HD have a 32GB class2 SDHC and the K850i have 16GB (originally in the DHD) there are after a half year only 1-2 GB left on both cards for, plenty of back-ups on the computers HDDs.

EDIT: Added my storage needs for my Smart phone.

bl-gr-n I suppose you right when you look at it like that.Video recording does munch up quite a bit of memory. And so does storing movies to watch.Im not a hoarder so Im constantly transferring my daily photos and video's captured to my PC.But if you like keeping that stuff on the card then I suppose 12.7GB aint gonna cut it.
