Press and hold the Home button till you get the recent apps window. If you want to close an app, you usually get the option to close the app by going to its menu. Now, some don't. Try to force close them in Application > Manage applications.
The folder music is...the one you create for that purpose.

Sold mine a while back. Didn't feel it, battery life the major contributing factor. Other niggling issues were the sluggish performance after loading music and a few apps.
Moto needs to work a tad harder on software optimization cause I found that it was glitchy here and there.
