I'm seriously contemplating the new PRO-i.

Some of the older phones are just impossible to find now. I wonder if any will become collectors items.

Definitely collectors items!

Not only are many of the older phones or :///: phones hard to find, very soon in a a few countries, the ability for them to connect to networks will be killed.

Many networks across the globe are shutting down or already have their 2G or 3G networks.

True. Make me sad my T610 will be unable to make calls soon. I'm after a White Xperia Play, w902 and a White C901.

The C901 because that was one of the last top end Sony Ericsson camera phones ever made.
There is a W902 going on eBay for £300

I repeat myself, but I'm happy to tell that my every day phone is still Sony Ericsson K610i. I have used it since 2007. On April 30th it will be 15 years old. Still going fine (with third original battery). Call quality and signal strength is excellent.

Here in Estonia GSM is alive for all three mobile operators, also 3G. Estonian biggest mobile operator Telia (EMT) has announced though that will shut down 3G in the end of 2023. But still no plans for GSM sunset.

I've just double checked and some 2g services look like they'll be going on until 2033 here in the UK.

I still have p990i in the drawer. Such an iconic device at that time.

Sony Mobile doesn't even operate in South Africa anymore. They exited a couple years back.None of our service providers sell them.Very sad affair for the Sony mobile fans in this country.

There are not many carriers in the UK that carry them either. Nearly all my phones have been sim-free / unllocked.

Still have my K850i Cyber-shot with the dreaded Vodafone branded box, need to find it’s charger though…

I had the same phone but preferred the green version. IIRC there were issues with the shutter at first, until an update came out and fixed it.
