yup, go to the help menu and scroll down to handwriting recognition.

to write the # or : or even ; for that matter do the following:

draw a line, bottom to up |
to the LEFT of this line, draw the # in the normal pattern

same goes for the : or ;

draw a line | bottom to up, then draw the symbol to the LEFT of this line.

@ejasim- it is in view > help > handwriting recognition. there are a lot of special characters you can write using the CICs JotPro. and you'll realize how excellent the recognition really is!!!
