Xperia got its name from giving users the 'experience'. I wonder what kind of experience users will have with a single core 800mhz processor on ICS which was designed optimally for dual core processors with 1GB of RAM where in late 2012 applications get more and more demanding. I'm proud of myself for resisting the overwhelming urge to curse...

Guys it's not crap as long as it is priced right, it will sell, why did samsung release the galaxy Y? so those who don't have enough money to buy those mid to high end can still buy themselves an android phone and at least play some of those free and basic games that do run on android apart from making calls, text and browsing the net.

maybe in your country where people can afford better phones it's pointless to buy this, but in other poorer countries this is just right. If priced similar to Galaxy Y this will be better instead of the samsung, and I think this is more for students rather than people already working and earning money.

Although I agree with bono that sony definitely needs a new flagship.

Of course these phones will sell, not only in poorer regions, but here aswell, especially the Dual sim version of the Tipo could be interesting to many people. Samsungs Gios, Y's and other cheap droids are doing well, they also have limited hardware and these Sony's are way better looking.
Not everybody wants an expensive phone, some can't afford it, others are simply not interested in spending much money on a phone.

What is the price range of these two?

While the RAM is decent given the small screen size, the CPU clock is unacceptable! and GPU as well! geez, last year's Xperia had much better specs than these two, and their price would surely lure away users that have basic knowledge of smartphones.

@razec

the galaxy Ace has same specs CPU, GPU and screen size but with lower ram. But it runs smooth and decent enough (at least in my experience using it), Although I'm not sure how much of a difference ICS will slow Tipo or Miro down. I think the deciding factor for this will still be the price if it is good or not. It has an inferior camera than Galaxy Ace (except Miro), but has a much larger internal memory and RAM than the Ace, and Ace was a midrange phone back then when it was released. This seems to be low end Android from sony.

EDIT: actually the Miro is the sony equivalent of the galaxy ace spec wise.

When compared with a Samsung, that is. But what about internal competition? Xperia Mini is the biggest problem, it's got superior specs hands down, and is priced lower than any of the two. Imho if Sony decided to phase the Mini out to give way for this, It'll be a very stupid move.

well I forgot about the Mini point taken, yes it would be a problem, only advantage would be the internal memory of these. I guess sony would have to price these very close to the mini which is also near the price of a galaxy y.
