That's really expensive. I'm holding off upgrading to see what kind of tariffs ThreeUK come out with.

The most expensive tariff at the moment is The One Plan with unlimited data and they might give free 4G access with that tariff as it is their flagship tariff.

Theres no rush to jump on the LTE bandwagon imo till at least this time next year. This is exactly the same as when 3G first launched in the UK apart from the phones arent as nasty as they were back then.

At first its ridiculously expensive, not very wide spread with little coverage outside of major cities and comes with a paltry allowance of bandwith.

LTE is overrated anyway imo. Its just a faster version of 3G but slower than my home wifi. For my uses 3G is just fine anyway. I have unlimited data with Three and spent Sunday morning streaming Netflix to my SGS3 whilst bored at work for two hours and not once did the connection slow or struggle. A couple of gigs worth !!

£99 to replace my SGS3 with the LTE version ? no thanks !

So its going to be called 4GEE ? how do they pronounce it ? four gee ! or four G 'EE

It's obvious the high prices that they are trying to claw back the money for the expensive licenses paid. Also,I have read that many people doing tests of EE's 4G have said there have been alot of teething problems and the signal was poor all the time.

I just dont see the point of it just yet. I mean, what services other than faster downloads do you get with 4G ?

Sorry for being so ignorant, but i do all my downloading at home on a 30Mb connection and need not use 3G at all unless it wish to update an app.

Same here and battery life will be sucked faster too. An early adopter is not always a good idea

I dont mind adopting earlier if theres some new service which warrants investing in it. Like going from a PS2 to a PS3, it was worthwhile, like going from dial up to broadband. Like going from Symbian to Android.

But going from 3G to 4G which is slower than my home broadband and offers no new services ? not really.

Like i said i spent a couple of hours streaming Netflix the other morning at work, which also was in HD to my SGS3's 720p screen. I like faster, but do i NEED faster ?
