The one thing ive never understood about Instagram, is its an app for mobile phones. Yet people like that take pictures with DSLRs and then upload it to Instagram. I prefer to follow people who use mobile phones only to demonstrate the strength of cameraphones.
A while back I purged quite a lot of people I followed for using a device which was not a mobile phone, no matter how good their pictures were.

I never understood why people want to have a top notch camera and use a filter on instagram.
I found myself doing it also. It's fun (and hides my absence of skills)

Or abuse it as they please, like the human race do to every invention they've ever created.

But that guy also uses an iPhone 5s aswell. And Instagram never made rules that it has to be from mobiles. Hans your right but I mostly use it to share photos of daily life, where I travel etc with people I know instead of Facebook. I also don't always use the filters just upload them as they are. The one thing I wish Instagram would change is cropping the photo so small. It isn't real serious photography Instagram just fun I don't see why everyone should take it so seriously. At least we don't get our photos marked down as a 1 like Esato

But that's a deliberate aspect of Instagram, to mimic the fun and sharing of moments of instamatic cameras.
If you want bigger more professional photography, Flickr is a must. I used mine a lot years ago and keep meaning to get back into it as its a more professional medium for photo sharing your skills.
