Received my 32GB white Tablet Z yesterday. Mixed first impressions, but on balance I'm very happy. I've come from using a Nexus 10 so it's got quite a lot to live up to.

Battery life and screen are better than I expected, and pretty much on a par with the Nexus in general use. Speaker quality and fluidity of the UI are the two things that the Nexus is still slightly superior on. I find the Sony much nicer to hold though due to it's slimness and lightness, and it's quite a joy to read text holding the device in one hand in portrait orientation. It also looks ten times better than the Nexus of course, and compliments my white Xperia Z very nicely.

Educational discount and quidco.com cashback meant that it was less money than the 16GB version so I can't complain about the cost.

Nice @esoqq. I'm trying to track down a white 32Gb model here in China but I'm struggling and I'm not certain I want a Chinese model anyway (no Google apps pre-installed). I'm going to order from Sony UK and get my dad to post it out to me.

Have you tried a custom launcher on your Tablet Z? I'm interested to know if a custom launcher will feel faster as that's the way it is on my Xperia Z handset.

Also, what is the screen quality like N10 vs Tablet Z? Viewing angles and all that jazz? It's so difficult to tell in youtube videos and reviewers all have different opinions on what is acceptable.

Ordered my White 32GB last night. So excited!

For a case I had a chat with the seller of this item on etsy. She's agreed to make a custom sized sleeve of the same design for the same price. Which isn't bad to say some leather sleeves go over 3x the price and aren't custom made.

Also I got one of these as a stand.

I did a bit more digging on the cable that will allow the Tablet Z to charge Xperia Z and I think all that is needed is a microUSB A to microUSB B cable (B-B would work also but it makes it difficult to remember which end is the host and which is the client), a regular USB OTG adapter + standard microUSB cable would work fine.

I tried the OTG cable + standard cable and managed to get my Xperia Z to charge my X10, I guess the Tablet Z + Z is going to be the same setup. Nonetheless, I don't like having a two part solution and would rather a single cable so I'm purchasing one of these (micro A to micro B for when my Tablet Z arrives in a few days.

White Tablet Z just arrived!! Going through the initial charging, then I'll post up some pics and first impressions.

Firstly, though, it really is super thin and although the styling on the edges isn't exactly the same as the Z handset it's very very similar. The glossy side panels are set just a a fraction of a mm deeper than on the handset which makes for a more chiseled feel.

Also, the volume rocker is plastic rather than the really stylish metal of the handset.

After my first couple hours with it, setting it up and playing, I'm very happy indeed.

The device is really comfortable to hold for extended periods of time, screen is beautiful, viewing angles are as good as anything I've ever seen, just need to root it and bring in some data from my phone.
