Hardly innovation when all Samsung does is release more samey phones with ever increasingly larger screens, more cores etc etc. Not innovation imo

Why do they have to innovate something new every time they release new phones ? New innovations comes in their annual top phons, the S family and the Note family

Would love to try the Mega 6.3 I am sure the screen, batterytime and camera will beat the crap out of Sony's so called high-end phones

Yeah but it's not a proper phone is it?? It's nearly tablet size i cannot take it seriously anymore. Walking around with that thing to your ear It's getting beyond silly sizes now and that's my view

I agree in many ways that its getting a bit silly. The 5.8 is imo completely pointless. Its specs are not as good as whats already available from Samsung.

The 6.3 is better looking than the S4 imo. Its really nice to look at.

As for flooding the market with endless smartphones that have the same kind of specs under the hood, regardless of looks - well that was Nokia from 2003 - 2009. That's what the top dog does. Build a great portfolio and then fill in the blanks to capture every last sale from your competitors.

Considering the fact that a lot of people bought the first samsung 7" tablet and used it as phone, I think these two makes sense for such users. Although 5.8 is low on specs, it will be very affordable to many more people as compared to 6.3 or the upcoming note 3 yet belong to the "latest" mobile phone.

Also I dont get the point of bashing one other over common business practices. Every manufacturer makes and spends alot on one flaghsip and others are based on it. That's how people identify that brand. Just look at every major brand ex- toyota, ford, apple, etc.

The difference being that Samsung ensure their internal hardware is up to date. I can't help but think that one of Nokia's biggest mistakes was when they dropped TI OMAP high end chips that were found in N95, N82, E90 etc... For the Freescale crap that was just a chip with no proper HW acceleration and skimped on RAM, it really limited their phones in a number of ways, and they were truly caught with their pants down with the N97 where the Freescale CPU was now just not able to cope with all the new SW, put that together with little RAM, what a disaster.

As for design, I'm not that bothered, I wouldn't mind a new design, it would be welcome but it seems to me that Samsung are trying to build a sort of brand identity and familiarity for the average user, but for their sake I do hope next years line- brings a fresh design, they can get away with this this year but next year things will need to change.

Yeah I would like to have seen a more professional looking S4 this year, like the S2.

And the aluminium, like the HTC One.
