Hi All,

Hope you guys are able to help me out...

Have one micro SD card used in Xperia ZL - dropped the phone in water for few sec's.
Got it out in time, was on and reacting, switch it off and didn't used it for a day...
Took SIM and micro SD card out...
Now, phone do not charge or restart - well have a get another one...

BUT!

my camera pictures are gone and the DCIM folder is empty .
Tried few data/image recovery sw's that i've found out there: asoftech data recovery, asoftech photo recovery, card recovery pro and so on...

Managed with Mini Tool Power Data recovery to get 350 images back - but now the JPEGs are corrupted...

Tried Jpeg recovery Pro without any luck...

Appreciate any ideas on how to get my pictures back...

Thanks! Almos

Thanks Tranced!

Tried but didn't work for me...

Mini tool power data recovery managed to get the jpg files when selected recover data but didn't find them when selected pics and videos...
Kinda' strange therefore now the recovered jpegs have the wrong header - need to swap the header with right one from image taken with same camera...
At least this is what I managed to find while reading several posts yesterday...

Would be interesting to know if you guys use auto-upload pictures on your mobile?
If yes what service you use? 'cause than at least some images are safe in the cloud...

Regards! Almos

Not really helpful for you now but on Windows Phone you can set it to save each photo directly to Skydrive. Unfortunately that's a small sized image.
The app "Camera Roll Sync HD" saves the full size photo in the Sky.

Thx Hans!

I'm considering more and more auto-backup to g-drive:

At least till I backup my images to home HDD.
I've learned something last couple of days...
Grrr had some great pics on my card...

Hi All,

Some updates from the battlefield

In the last few days, have tried several data & image recovery programs - just to name a few - 001Micron Digital, Asoftech Data & Photo recovery, Card recovery, EaseUS Data recovery, Glary Undelete, MediaHeal, MiniTool Power Data Recovery, Picture Doctor, Recuva, Undelete 360, Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery & Photo Recovery & Jpeg repair, ZAR, Kroll Ontrack home & professional...

But, wasn't able to recover any of the files from DCIM folder. I did however recover other image files that were deleted from the card while back and placed in different folder(s) on the card. Interestingly, the last pictures were taken beginning of August and all recovery programs were able to "see" pictures taken latest June. Didn't manage to recover any video/music files from the card either...

With Stellar/Ontrack/001Micron - I've tried recovering and repairing the DCIM jpegs without any success. Tried even extracting only the thumbnails - nothing. Seems that the images are damaged for good.

Now, I'm about to send off my card to "Flash Data Recovery" in Germany (Recoverfab)...

Check out the video on YT - it's pretty amazing what and how they do it: video on YT

Will need to think about it over the weekend - they charge 200Euros for 2GB microSD card, but only if they succeed and recover something (either one or several images).

BTW - I'm using Dropbox to keep a backup of my images and works just fine...
why on earth I didn't used it before?...

Regards, Almos

As for those lost data , most people don't know their lost data and files are not really gone until something new is written over them. Sometimes , by scanning phone device to recover lost phone is possible , so you are able to recover pictures on Android phone ,
