No needs long range 10x zoom in real life , 3x is more usable and better for optic specs. K Zoom not is the Best cameraphone , not is simply Best , but is nice toy. I want try it

But the 1020 can zoom 25x after photos so surely that's an advantage over the K Zoom?

Have to say though, these shots from the K Zoom are quite good.

Its totally different.. its one thing to zoom in to a 41Mpix shots and another to optically zoom in using glass elements. The 1020/808 concept works great for a smartphone since there are no movable parts, which results in a more compact, lighter, and physically more reliable package.. but it can't compete with real zoom lenses in terms of magnification and quality retention.

We can go even further back to Samsungs 1st Optical Zoom phone, the Symbian S60 based G810:

Samsung G810 Specs

They've always had this obsession with Optical Zoom.

G810 has clever optical scheme, without outside moving parts - same as Vario Tessar Lens

It's was much like the Nokia N93, the moving parts were inside, if I'm not mistaken G810 owners did complain of the camera making a noise if you're zooming while recording a video, it would ruin the sound.

Either way, Samsung have been pursuing this for a long time, I can't wait until the day they bring all this into one beast of a flagship once all the tech is refined.

It's thick but not bad looking.

This will be my next cause my s5 begin to struggle at iso 80 (blurry shake)

I'm very tempted to get one too, the OIS, 10x zoom, it's not too thick or too heavy and it's got Xenon and reasonable specs so if it's out before I go on holiday at the end of June then I'll be getting one and I can test it out properly when I go away.

It does look great huh ? I wasn't impressed by last years S4 Zoom, but this is much nicer.

I still don't think i'll have the spare cash to buy one though, anytime soon, ever !
