It does look great huh ? I wasn't impressed by last years S4 Zoom, but this is much nicer.

I still don't think i'll have the spare cash to buy one though, anytime soon, ever !

I know a couple of people who have the S4 Zoom and it's not as bad to use as you might think, these days people take pictures with tablets and all sorts, a lot of people who say bad things about the S4 zoom have never used one or looked at one, it's not perfect and it's quite bulky but it does rival a mid range compact camera for quality.

The K Zoom is a big improvement though and they have done a very good job slimming it down, if you want a very good camera and phone together I don't see a better alternative especially as it will be the best all round camera on Android.

When there's OIS and Xenon Flash along with proper zoom there's no competition, it's my ideal device.

Very nice

wider than the 808 and it shows very good sharpness/detail in the middle of the frame.

I always wondered who would be the first manufacturer to release a phone with folded optics like Sony The series cameras?? I know that folded optics generally produce worse images but I wondered if Samsung would ever do that.

Hi all Many fullsized K-Zoom shots found in Flickr
https://www.flickr.com/photos[....]644385910726/with/14058985155/

I get and resize it to 8mp

Samples not good , not bad - simply cheap compact camera quality. I would take K-Zoom only as funny toy , I would......

We can go even further back to Samsungs 1st Optical Zoom phone, the Symbian S60 based G810:

They've always had this obsession with Optical Zoom.

Sassho, I've seen much better samples than that on Flickr.

Also the S4 Zoom had mid range compact camera quality that was confirmed by trusted reviews, phonearena etc, so the K Zoom won't have less quality so it is better than a cheap compact camera.

@northmonkey - Exmor RS sensor in K-Zoom is good , but has again strong noise reduction. Ofcourse this take down detail. Lens not a Best with this 10x Zoom. K-Zoom look's as funny toy , nothing more.

Of course picture quality won't be very good when zoomed in 8x-10x because it's at the far end of the zoom.

I don't think any Android cameraphone is better than this or even close.

i don't think there's any significant or even noticeable difference between 2x, 3x, 4x ... 8x and 10x zooming. the zooming here is an optical one. there will be no noticeable image degradation between zoom levels. your concern regarding degrading image quality when zooming is only applicable on digital "lossless" zooming like the one employed by 1020.

maybe you'll just have problems with the shake since a small shake can be amplified as many times as you increase your zoom. i'm not sure how the k zoom's OIS will perform.
