I have NO WILL to upgrade from my 2week old Xperia Z5.

1. Spontaneous and continuous camera tracking is nice but I see this as a software implementation that i'll be looking on XDA Developers to hijack and make available.

Samsung 820 cpu yeah an improvement yet not so significant in terms of battery life or overheating which Sony did do a REAL WORLD job on the Xperia Z5 lineup. 13MP Front Selfie camera - I'm no model so this is of NO CONCERN to me. If I've got problem skin no better camera is going to fix it just highlights how much worse it'll look. No thanks lol

To be honest I see BETTER show from Sony in terms of their new headset Sony Ear. Their taking the "Google" out of Google's "Ok Google". A more natural way to interact with your phone. Take heed competitors ... Sony is embarking not on IoT here, a buzz word that has yet to rake in ANY REAL profits/revenue for any corporation but in making AI more friendly, usable and socially interactive. If neither of you watched that video you MUST!

THINK:
Get in your car in the morning with your smartphone, start the car ... you're greeted by name. The phone announces it's already pulled up the pre-cached route to work and asks if this is your destination. You say "Yes, but I'd like to pickup my girlfriend on the way" and a new route with updated traffic/road conditions is loaded along with your favorite hot-chick-swoon tracks Now she jumps in gives you a kiss - the phones auto pair yet with cameras seeing the kiss emit a smooth soft yet blissful sound you've both pre-selected/pre-agreed upon (noice touch). The phone in your car has been updated with her pre-selected destination and asks to confirm (finding best routes). This is subtle but it's VERY significant use of AI and connectivity.

Thus far MWC 2016 is a complete TOSS OFF thus far! Samsung won the smartphone race this year. You're going to see HUGE sales from this - if Sony doesn't get their marketing crap and launch dates together. I'm PISSED OFF no Compact 4.6" LCD smartphone announced with Snapdragon 820 CPU.

If I upgrade I'll be getting the cheaper grey market price deal on the Z5 Premium and Z5 Compact.

The official answer is that Sony cameras are optimized for "performance." Performance meaning how photos and videos from the camera look great both on the phone's screen and on a computer screen. The selfie camera, in particular, has been tuned to view on large screens.

Sony stop making excuses for yourselves ... hire expert algorhythm writers and professional world renowned photographers to work on contract with bonus incentive to create better quality camera software !!! If this was in the days of God of War you'd all be gutted like fish!

Finally, we got a chance to ask questions about the 4K screen on the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. Sony is happy with how it performs and says it gets the job done for people who need 4K resolution. There are no plans to add 4K support to more of the Z5 Premium interface and app package.

Is it confirmed that the Xperia X Performance will be released in June?
On their homepage it doesn't say anything. Sony usually write expected release month.

Most likely.
mobile site MobileSyrup (Canadian based) states that ALL Xperia X lineup WILL come to Canada this summer - carrier announcements with specific pricing to be confirmed but Sony staff in a statement directly to that site confirmed they are ALL coming!

I guess no one among us Esato users is getting an Xperia X Performance?
Personally, I am tempted just for the sake of being different. Once the Note 6 is released, that phone will be my main.
Sony please tell your engineers and software programmers to hurry the F up. April would have been fully acceptable.

Well kind of difficult to buy something when it comes out in the summer with unknown or varying availability, at least here in Europe.

I will wait with my final judgement until the white paper is official.

Isn't this the official whitepaper?

Oh, there's one to download. Didn't see that. Thanks! That made me disappointed indeed.
As I have always suspected, this is most likely just something to fill in the gap while preparing for the true flagship at IFA.

I am not sure it is the final white paper, they do get updated. The issue is this, there are videos on youtube claiming to be from the x performance shooting 4k video, something missing on the white paper, press release and sony's website. There is also conflicting information regarding IP68 certification, again missing from the press release and Sony's website and finally the white paper.

I know various websites have specs listing IP68 but I am not sure it is confirmed yet, even on Sony's various twitter accounts there is conflicting tweets.

No doubt the sensor and sd820 is more than capable of shooting 4k.

Still this video shows no 4k
