Is there a Windows app that allows me to throw the music on my laptop to my bluetooth speakers? I can see the speakers in the bluetooth settings but it won't connect. I tried bringing them together to connect by NFC too.

I've not tried this myself either. But I searched some youtube tutorials. Hope it helps:

Yeah, I have had it. I have a second older laptop, wish I could upgrade that too but it's too old I think. It's stuck on Vista.

Yeah, I thought so. It could do with an upgrade anyway. I'll check out the tech requirements.
