my eyes think the xzp wins. better colors without being overblown. sharpness and clarity is very similar.

In my opinion, the iPhone 7 wins in most areas
The Xperia XZ Premium has inherited the typical Sony image style.

what style is that? i think xzp has better colors.. iphone seems a bit washed out in some photos and overbrightened. but hey, as they said, they can't confirm settings were the same either.

Better details on the xzp at the expense of noise while Apple iphone trumps with cleaner shot

The xzp also catches more colors.

But to be honest, there is too much chromatic noise on the xzp that it's as if the shots were taken with higher iso (at least compared to my Z2.)

So many Apple fanbois here. Xzp takes the most eye pleasing picture IMHO without me being a Sony fan boy. Noise doesn't determine the whole picture quality. You need to look at dynamic range, colour accuracy, white balance and so on. Don't say the iPhone pictures looks natural because it's not. Natural pictures doesn't have yellow tint to it. BTW GSM arena being biased again they think xzs pictures are the same as xzp. Of course not, the pictures on xzp looks better than xzs. Better colours and no blurring at the corners. Both processor image signal processing is not the same

EDIT
I meant so many blind apple sheeps at GSM arena not here

XJ - do you mean you're getting a chance to play around with it? or you mean you're getting yours in hand? if the latter, then i am EXTREMELY jealous and i may hate you for awhile. not gonna lie.

@kurtdean - i agree with you. i the xzp photos are better overall. there is slightly more noise than the iphone when you pixel peep, but other than that, there is tremendous detail and much better color. i think GSMarena's point that the xzp is the same as xzs is because sony has told them the camera is the same in both. so they have no reason to believe that xzp's photos will be different. logically, there is no flaw in that conclusion. I've never really trusted GSMarena's photo tests. I always seem to take much better photos myself than what any reviewer sites manage to take. For me, as long as I am happy with the end product. I could give a rats ass what any tech writer/reviewer thinks
