But this is confidential information, I do not have the right to share it. All I can say is that we are investing money in OLED displays. And very soon you will see 4K-OLED-matrices in mobile devices, which until now did not exist.

A while ago I posted that Sony Mobile had deeper pockets that before for R&D for new technologies that will start to appear in future smartphones and looks like this is definitely the case with the statement quoted above.

I've also said this year is the year that Sony will turn heads and they've kind of done that already at CES with the new XA range and expect MWC to be a start of a new chapter for Sony Mobile.

I thought Premium would be every 18 months.

Like IFA 2018, MWC 2020, IFA 2021....

JDI have developed their own OLED before albeit a while ago. Could we see an in house OLED display from Sony rather than relying on another supplier?

This would kind of make sense as we know very little about it and things built in house have much tighter controls when it comes to leaks in the media and as we now know Sony have invested in OLED development so they don't need a 3rd party to depend on parts.

I would like to see one lens only.
But with optical zoom and ability to change focal length.

Unless, Sony can pull rabbit out of the hat, which is truly secret project somewhere happening in Minato-ku.

I personally not believe that we going to see 4K OLED in smartphone, not before 2020.

JDI has only prototype of these things for years but insufficient fund to build their own OLED plant
and make matter more fishy, in last December, Sharp (Foxconn) says they interested to join force.

JDI, has know-how Foxconn has money join force to fight against Korean Duopoly
