Is Sony dropping the Xperia brand?

Think so. Rumored they might remove the "xperia". Notice all new phones do not have "Xperia" on them?

which new phones?
As far as I see, Xperia 1, 10, 10 Plus have Xperia logos on back

Herds the news. Seems they gonna remove the "Xperia "

About the 5G device.
Is it 1 with 5G modem or another device?

Bonus: no exmor inside 10 .... 🤬🤬🤬

No sony sensor in a Sony phone. And they are thinking of dropping Xperia name, they should drop sony and save face. X1's 3 sensors are also Samsung.

10 is turning out to be an utter garbage. They should have slapped an HD screen with 2016 Xa's Exmor and ask $200/250 for it.

Samsung S10 5G is said to be released on April 5th and Sony still can't manage to release their 4g device. I don't think there will be a 1 5g version. Judging by the release schedule I expect it to appear in September at the earliest.

The main cam of 1 is Exmor ..
It is on the product's page.
Sony does not have any 1/3.4" to be used, only 1/3" and 1/4".
Must be the reason.

They are probably trying to increase profits per unit.
Isocell are cheaper than exmor.

I would wait for the final release of the Xperia 1 before making the conclusion that it has no Sony sensor. Its obvious that it wasn't ready at MWC so you couldn't even check out the UI. Also, there is no reason why they would go Samsung over their own sensor purely on the money saving aspect.

Xperia 10 is not only an utter rubbish, it's also an insult to great phones they made many years ago.

They can't even put a bigger battery inside their phones anymore. 65h for Xperia 10 isn't going to make people cheer for them.

Stubborn old men!

I meant the 10 which is confirmed to not have any sony sensors.

1's set up is revealed by Zackbuks. 3 including the front is Samsung.

Maybe they were in a hurry since xz4 was scrapped for 1. But still raw noise reduction with a 7 piece f/1.8 lens on a 1/2" sensor would have been more in line with Xperia identity. I'm still hopeful for something better to show up later.

10 should have had the 636 too at the very least. If they can't they should have made the compromise elsewhere. At full price it has too many compromises.

Battery seems to me more a matter of choice than not being able to fit in.
Something they did to XZ1.

About the cameras, situation seems to be like this:

10 = all isocell
10+ = main rear exmor, tele /selfie = isocell
1 = main = exmor , tele/ultra wide/selfie = isocell
L3 = no mention of exmor , must be like 10

Have you seen this? https://youtu.be/S4UHq_4jAGM it's in 21:9 and for p30.

That's what I was talking about for X1 promos. Sony should recruit short film makers and camera reviewers on yt. How hard could it be?

They did this for A6400. I can gladly do it if they send me a unit.
Preference for the gray or white.

In Taiwan the midranges are much cheaper.

BONUS: Sumaho says someone posted on reddit something said to be from weibo that starting with 1, all Xperia high end are 4K. Unless they bring back compacts.

Please, tell me this is true ... 😍😍😍😍
