Hi Guys - please can someone tell me whether it is possible to access the T68's menu/features without a sim card inserted. A friend mentioned that he had heard of a key combination that will allow you to gain access to the phone??

then display say "Wrong Pin" press 'NO' and you have access to most menus.
But this feature only available in old version

I know for sure that you have access to the hidden firmware version meny (>*<<*<*) even if you have no sim in it.

yep.... and you don't even have to turn on it on... just connect a charger to it and you can acces the service menu
