We have 4 GSM carriers in Nigeria, namely:
1. Vmobile - 2G >1.5million subscribers
2. MTN - 2G >2.5 million subscribers
3. Mtel - 2g >0.7million subscribers
4. GloMobile - 2.5G >1.8 million subscribers (by the way, Glo launched just last year August, and GSM services have been available since 2001).

As noted above, only GloMobile runs GPRS technology. The service works well, with WAP and MMS. But you cant dial-in to an Internet account, something you can do on both MTN and Vmobile. MTel? Search me!

As for phones, we've got about every phone model in the world. Only problem is, Nigerians prefer to show off with them rather than put them to any real use, lol
