I've seen several different types of those flashing accessories here before, stickers and dangles. Lately I haven't seen anybody using it anymore. I don't think they take power from the batteries - they simply use tiny coils which generates current from the radio (electro-magnetic) signals from your phone - much like tiny generators. The current is just enough to light up a small LED.

@happy720: Dude, they wont cause any disruption of signal, cause they work on hertz principal ( Wont explain that; as it involves 2 balls and a shaft , See if you can read Hertz experiment on EM radiation ) Anyway; Its like they have a tiny battery of their own, and suppose 5 people are using cell phones in a room, it wont effect your signal quality, will it? So there...

@Pradhika, I always enjoy reading your posts... they're so unpredictable!

I agree with @Debu, they don't interrupt with the signals that your phone sends or receives. Mobile phones transmit to all directions and only very few of them actually gets picked up by a cell site's antenna. It's those stray signals that are utilized by these flashers.

There were a few types.

1. Stickers with small LEDs

2. Cases, Battery covers and keypads which were a bigger version, more LEDs, more different effects which you needed to attach to the battery

3. Lanyards with an LED in the end (like where the SE logo is on their lanyards) - These work the same way as the stickers

I can't find a pic of a lanyard. Check ebay if you want to buy this useless junk. I like most went through the phase, but I got over it pretty quick.
