Even the first rumors regarding the P5 involved a VGA screen, so I'd say that's a shoe-in, especially given the X1 as precedent. Also, as it will run UIQ, a 262K-color screen is also a given, if not 16 million. Though for battery's sake, I'd prefer 262K.

Hmm...UIQ on a >500 mhz processor?? Would definitely have to have a look......

I did mention the hardware might not be the same on this assumption.

hahaha....but well guys if SE read you wish list...maybe they will think...hmmm not a bad idea

Flame me if you hate my assumption.

but just a hypothesis....will you buy it if SE come out a phone tht look exactly like X1 (maybe improve the look on those button) and put a UiQ platform in it.

Will you buy it?

I would take this as a sign of severe case of lack of imagination at SE's design department! And I would keep my P990i until the replacement for the P5 was released!

The rumours at the moment hint of a QWERTY slider. I hope it will be a vertical slider and not a horizontal one that you have to rotate like the X1 just for texting and typing!

Hmm i also assume P5 will be similar to the X1 design wise although i doubt the hardware aspect to be similar with the X1. Qualcomm processor is binary incompatible with Symbian, so SE had to look elsewhere for a proper CPU to incorporate on P5. lets say TI-OMAP 34xx which is the best CPU for a symbian phone. although i would love to see P5 using ATI 229x applications processor and the 2300 for Graphics.

finally someone flamed me hehe.....

but honestly there's not much form factor that one can explore now.

maybe there are like the dual hinge like Motorola MPX, Nokia N8x? and some Samsung smart phone.

BUT if SE want to do something like those...they better make sure they do it way better than others.

maybe it can be one with dual direction slide....where you have this keypad tht auto rotate....if potrait mode you got all the normal alpha numeric key but when roate to landscape you get the qwerty keypad

It would be wonderful if P5 hade the same scrren resolution, but with more colors, 256k minimum. An most impotent the same typ of keyboard.

Yes the keyboard is very impotent (det heter ju för fan impotent på svenska också). Of course there will be a hands free solution for the X1.

From a VERY reliable source, I've heard, that the P5i does indeed have a sliding keyboard, but a rocker-keyboard, like P1i and M600i, and sliding down vertically instead sliding out horizontally....

How would that work? I mean, I admit to have never used any of the rocker-devices before, but don't those protrude from the device a few millimeters or so? How would it be able to slide effectively?

Still, considering the P1i is being "decommissioned" in Sept. and something must take its place, it would make sense for the P5i to have similar design elements for it to feel like a natural successor.

I've also heard good things about the rocker keypad. I've also heard bad things. I guess it's in what you get used to.
