@kenx3000 - Yes! I agree specially with that of Nokia's plans for 2005 - 40 handsets to be released, as I have seen it also in CNN about a week ago . . . Nokia's unrelentless fone PROLIFERATION is still creating a BIG havoc for the consuming public. Have to SAVE more dineros as to catch-up with the very latest Nokia celfone TREND !

It was mentioned somewhere here that nokia were looking at 30 new handsets next year, so 40 does sound reasonably accurate.

Tell you what....I did see something
very interesting yesterday. Our T-Mobile rep had a mini-MDA with him. Slightly smaller than a Nokia 7610, but similar dimensions, this is apparently the "budget" version of the new XDA/MDA III, due for release imminently in the UK.
As far as I'm concerned, this is where the market's headed. It had the full feature repertoire of the MDA III, but in a proper fixed form, phone size, the majority of the space being taken up by a touchscreen. With Wi-Fi and 1.3MP camera, to complement the functions already available on and XDA/MDA II, I am sure this is a winner, even with the Microshit operating system.
Might be tempted away from
and Symbian, albeit temporarily, after all...

SE has always released fewer handsets than other manufacturers and has managed to do very well in doing so. A small number of handsets would seem to indicate that they are continuing to concentrate on quality rather than quantity.
We can already make an educated guess at what some of those handsets will be. There is almost certainly going to be the P1000 and perhaps a budget smartphone too. There may also be an updated version of the K700, featuring expandable memory and perhaps a megapixel camera. There will no doubt be at least one other 3G handset too. This then accounts for four handsets.

and if you take in to account recent comments in an interview I would imagine a couple of low end phones and more 3g.
SE only have 2 3G out at the moment so if it intends to stay with the pack then it must have a couple more 3G handsets on the way soon.
A 3G-S700 would be cool.

Look at V800, and then imagine it having its bigger brother by its side, thats the 3G phones for next year . a cuple of low end phones and a P series plus a mid range symbian , then comes K710/30 and a new super cameraphone... There you go next years SE colection !

as despite it's thinness I still found it to be a bit on the wide side when I handled it the other week, so I wouldn't want it to have a bigger brother. Unless the big brother is a SE megapixel Smartphone.
@Scotsboy. I too wouldn't want too many handsets released. Usability, ergonomics and quality of materials is more important to me than anything else. I mean what is the use of having a feature packed phone it has life of about 6 months because the battery case fell off.

The 3G market will almost certainly become every major manufacturer's main concern. The V800 is a high-end 3G mobile, so I think we can expect a replacement for it next year along with a mid-range 3G mobile.
