CCD or CMOS are the camera sensors.
Digital Cameras have CCD sensors which are way much better. I mean... more... hmm... sensitive.
And camera sensors have nothing to do with screen.

actually there should not be alot of difference theoretically between CCD and CMOS but CMS requires alot more manufacturing precision apparantly and until that can be achieved, CCD does give better results as is what is used in most (non phone) digital cameras. CMOS is cheaper and thats why its in phones but it really is time to make the switch IMHO

yeah, they are lower power and also smaller than the equivalent CCD so I guess all these factors add up to why they have been used... until now... hopefully the S700 will be a "proof of concept" that its time to change

For a sec I got really excited. I thought it was a new S series mobile until I realised what site I was looking at. sigh

This year is full of surprises no wonder we can see phones with +3MP cams and a optical zoom in them, and i guess samsung is already ahead in this.
