Maybe using OLED instead of the usual backlit LCDs.

The good thing is with Windows Mobile we'll have plenty of useful applications than Symbian UIQ, whatever the version is.

One thing I don't like about UIQ is that limitation of useful softwares/applications availability, even if it is compared to Symbian series 60 or 80.

That's why I currently thinking about trading my P900 to O2 XDA II Mini.

Go SE, Windows Mobile 5 will be suitable for your next smartphone, whatever the name will be. I'll be waiting for that.

Windows mobile? What a dissappoinment that would be. One of the reasons I like the Pxx series is that it doesn't have Windows. I've had a P800, P900, and P910. It would be a shame not to be able to buy a P1000 because it has f***ing Windows on it.

Most of the people I see using a high end smartphone these days have a HP pda with gsm added in. Because:
- the IT boys in the company are easily convinced, those pda's are closely related to what they buy and work with
- for the user the Outlook experience on the phone is very close to what they see on the office computer

These Windows pda's and the blackberry are the main threaths to Symbian based smartphones.

IF SE gives up Symbian in the next p1000 it would be sad but marketingwise maybe the best bet.

Ok one windows version is ok. Since there are other smartphones too, let us hope one of those will be UIQ3. This message was posted from a K500

Well there isn't going to be any P1000 this year, that's for sure. I'd like to see how UIQ3 is going to turn out first.

SE's hardware and design + WM5 is an unbeatable combination. I've been dreaming of it for 6 month now.

No one can beat the Borg (MSFT) when it comes to PIM sync with MS Exchange - that is a fact of life.

Look technology is moving on and it looks like pda type phones are looking for a stable OS to run off which I think symbian is probably fine for the Pxxxx series - but Microsoft will be highly considered as they’re potentially making a real mark in the phone industry! I say stick with the old for now! So it keeps Microsoft on there toes to keep developing till SE really has no choice
