A curved sensor would fix the corner softness while being a thinner module. Though you'd probably need to stabilize the whole module for ois.

Older sensors were too wide but I guess it made the module not protrude. Once that became normal and protruding cams delivered worthy results it didn't make sense.

Tony where are you on that 5k device?

Do 2019 Xperia use Gboard or still Swiftkey?

Independent seller brought X10 to sell here.
No warranty. Black or gray. 4Gb version.
$456 + shipping ...
10% for than price Sony brought XA2 ...

HMD uses Zeiss, still has corner softness.
Something you will barely see if use 28mm instead of 26/25/24.
10 has less corner issues than XA2 because it is no longer 24mm.

They should do like LG and use glass lenses instead of plastic.
Except LG , all use plastic lenses.

Just the clarify a little bit, HMD didnt use Zeiss, same as Huawei, they didnt use Leica

They got certification (They paid to use the name), not manufactured by it

Does that mean lenses of Xperia 1 are manufactured by Zeiss?

I only have this to share

Xperia 10 is Kirin
Xperia 10 Plus is Mermaid
Xperia XA2 is Pioneer
(_dsds is dual sim variant)
Ganges is family name for 10 series (but Nile is the previous family name for XA2 series, so XA2 under 10 family name is strange)

Digging around Xperia 10 series software, found out Sony created an "super XA2" as test-bed for 10 series, running the same software as 10 (so features exclusive on 10 would be fine on XA2 but they decided not to update due to sales), added OIS to the back camera (23MP with OIS same structure but with different sensor on 10). Also this show Sony could have upgrade S630 in 10 to 636 like 10 Plus with ease but they did not, again due to segment and sales.

So sony released xa2 without upgrading sw&hw with the 630 and it didn't sell. Then they decided to do the same for another year? Wow. Logic 100.

3-4 months maybe (would say 6 but that would make a Christmas launch) . They will replace the 1 then. Or will it be another series? 🤔

1) Sumaho said the japanese midrange name is ACE ...

2) Could someone tell me why XA2 trinity is not getting Android 10 when X10 will?

3) How about the story told here that the 5G phone would be the real flagship?
