in Bahrain the 3G is by MTC-Voda and Batelco.
In Qatar, only Q-Tel runs everything, but in 10 years or less they're going to lose the monopoly.

in the usa cingular is launching 3g in about 12 markets as of nov. 4th but i live in nyc and we won't be getting it until sometime next year and it is supposed to be UMTS(wcdma)/HSDPA but its hard to get concrete facts about the HSDPA part.

People from Czech republic (Central Europe ) can look forward 3G by both three operators!! The first will be Eurotel since 1st December, T-Mobile abouth month later and Oskar (the smallest one) from I think March - May 2006

To vipburgr and to all Czech people:

I read from one IT-magazine that in november T-Mobile opened in Prague European first 4G network TD-CDMA. As we don't have that kind mobile phones in the market, it can be used only by PCMCIA-card. Data can be transferred up to 1 MB/s (Mbit/s).

But does TD-CDMA really means 4G? Maybe it is just another type of 3G (in other words UMTS)?
