It's no surprise that the next P-series is unlikley to be 3G.
Someone made the point earlier about size and they have a point.
Yes I know the A1000 is compact but Motorola invested heavily in building 3G phones and they have more 3G phones on the market and in the pipeline than all of their rivals in GSM territories. They are further up the learning curve.

Also the P-series is beloved of business people that travel a lot - there isn't great 3G coverage/roaming available yet.
But GPRS is now very widespread as ar WiFi hotspots in hotels, airports and train stations.
Easier to download e-mail headers over GPRS and heavy duty things like attachments over WiFi.

3G also affects battery life and you will also get dropped calls because the technology of both netwrok and handset is still relatively immature.

So it makes sense for next P-series to be an incremental improvement over the P910i. I would hope that it is available early in Q2.

World first 5-band (system) phone would be nice:
GSM 850/900/1800/1900/3G.

GSM-users would be happy and 3G-lovers also

se might bring out a good phone in 05,dont hold your breath on that with 04 as an example that might not happen might just get some updates -which they seem increasingly good at ie clara,p910,k500 aimed at different segments of the market but all very similar to previous se phones and of course a few updates.

I am looking forward to the next P series, i am hoping for a slim, ergonomic phone with larger touch screen, minimum 1.3 cam, Wi Fi, nice big internal memory, 1gig Duo compat, adjustable intensity screen light, timed press jog (IE as P910 but different menus can be accessed with one, two or three fast ckicks, vastly increasing jogdials usefullness),
i will not buy it if its 3G, 3G was finished before it started in my book its a silly commercial standard that will be quickly overtaken,
i do want built in GPS but i think thats asking too much .
I also want a worldwide standard for incorporating a "whats my blood group" button( Failing this an Epitaph recaller) & i want the phone security DNA matched to me.

Can't wait til they get the glitches out of the P910i. I may as well have a yard brush for the use this thing is at present. (See P910i Touch Screen Locked Out).
