It's great that Nokia came up with that 6230. Now SE has to come up with a phone with specs as good as that one!! Thats good for us.

Precisely... can always do it but I guess economical/market factors have greater say about a phone makers plans than what loyal customers have... Nokia seems to have learnt its lesson after the failures of the 5510 and 3300... what appeals to me particularly is the music playing capability in a candy bar format phone... lets hope for the best...

aaaahhhh... my 100th post

All I can say it that it's about time Nokia came up with a decent, feature-packed candybar phone. Too bad it looks like my granddad's sofa.

Yeah, and I've seen Nokia 8209399484, which has 5 MP camera, 32-bit SVGA display etc. and it only weights 80g...

As someone said before on this topic, most Esato rumours tend to be true... Even tho some people f*ck up and truly ruin it, some are reliable. This phone does sound like something SE would want to launch and something that they could launch. If this is the case, they better launch it quickly and cheaply and in large numbers. With most of the world favoring Nokia, everyone will buy that phone in Q1 (the 6230 that is) and no one, but an elite few, will want to buy the so called T650. Lets hope it's true or the Q3 profit for SE won't follow through for any other quarter.....

if anyone is take bluetooth as a consideration when buying a high end phone. Rethink about getting a nokia.

Unless there's an improvement on the way the phone is connected with other device, I doubt their's is good when compare to SE's version.

Well the only phone tht SE can used to compete with nokia 6230 will be Z1010 since it also have video conferencing etc etc....but of course tht's a 3G phone which is not fair to compare to 6230.

Ah. You doubt. But have you ever tried on a Nokia?

If yes, pls provide detailed info on your findings.
If no, I guess your statement is nothing but air, eh?

The Nokia 6230 is well spec'ed (on paper) compared to the SE T610 or T630.

The Nokia has the extra FM radio, MP3 player, video ability and MMC card (although I think they should have tried to use SD cards to overcome the 128meg limit). It is still quite an impressive spec. despite having a slightly 128x128 smaller screen than the SE (128x160) phones.

What I would like to see is just how useful the infrared and Bluetooth are in transferring and receiving files. The current Nokia 6250 doesn't accept pictures/ringtones etc. via infrared like the SE phones. It's basically a V-Card beamer and PC modem connection.

To be honest, if the phone book also stored addresses (which it does not) it would probably be enough for me to take it over the P900 (as I have a small Notebook PC and don't really need a smartphone, just a organiser with good MMS capabilities - the MMC and MP3 swing it in the 6230's favour).

I really think it is a lot about market strategy. The people who really like to have the latest phones have most likely already bought at T610 or are buying a z600 right now. Since these models have been the by far best phones on the market for the last 6 months. On top of this the T630 will actually be released in Q4 on some markets and very early in Q1 in the rest of the world. This means the people who have not upgraded to a T610/z600 will likely buy a T630. At the time when the Nokia 6230 hits the stores in late Q1(which i have heard from several sources actually is looking to be in early Q2) the T650 will have been presented. This will make people with the T610/Z600/T630 rather wait the 1 or 2 months and instead buy the T650. In my opinion Nokia is at this moment a little unsynced with regards to their launching of new models. Still the 6230 is a nice phone and it will probably sell a lot, but i think SonyEricsson are better synced to the market.
