I think Vaio was a very different story.
Years ago we needed a computer to access the internet, to read/send emails, do school/university tasks.
Computers are losing ground to smartphones.
Sony failed with DSLR but things are getting better with mirrorless.
I doubt they will do this, but killing RX100 series to give the sensors to Xperia could change things.

Killing RX100 for Xperia is way too risky. Why kill a very successful product for helping a almost dead Xperia? At this stage, they had already make a all-round smartphone. However, XZ2 is way too late to responsing the market.
I only heard they will kill Xperia and migrate to other business if Xperia still suck in 2019/2020.

Well... You just missed one very critical statement. This "spec." is a mixture of real and fack. As I said, he is a spokesman of Sony CN. So, I don't think the camera spec is true.
